We are having fun with the stairs he went to sleep yesterday on them because he found them so "stressful"...he has seen the cat he showed little interest and he is napping at the moment:)))

July 14, 2010 - He is doing very well.  He loves my adult class and the students love him.  He is so sweet and everyone loves him.  I just have to break him of the jumping up on people as he likes to do that when he is happy.  He is being followed by my vet, and seems to enjoy living here very much.  He was playing in the studio.  He loves to dance, but he doesn't stay still long enough for a plie.  You should come take my adult class and you will get to see him often.

May 9, 2010 - Duke is doing great! The poor thing is wiped out - Every kid in the neighborhood has been here to visit and play.   He slept in Jeremy's room last night-we left him at home this morning out of the crate while we went to church and he was fine.   He is eating and seems to be adjusting fine.  He is the sweetest and calmest thing ever.  We are thrilled to have him with us.   A good friend of mine has already started looking at the site to find a lab of her own.

April 26, 2010 - Sully's (formerly known as Turtle) first night was great!!!! She has her own room and bathroom. Even though she has a huge bed to sleep on, she would rather hang out in the shower! She went to work with me today and got a bath and nail trim. She is such a love!

May 9, 2010 - I just wanted to give an update on Sully (Turtle)...  Sully is doing great! She is such a good dog!! Last weekend we went to see my parents in Nashville. She did great in the car and during the thunderstorms! She loves playing outside and going for walks. She thinks that she is a lap dog and likes to cuddle with everyone! I've attached some pictures! We love her!!!

June 23, 2010 - I just took a few photos of Abby (formerly known as Auburn) playing with her "big sister" Anna.  I would say she is pretty well potty trained.  She whimpers and goes to a door or window when she needs potty.  She drinks so much water so she has to potty a lot in the mornings and then she settles down after a walk and will sleep for a few hours. 

We all love her and very much enjoy having her in our lives.

Dodger

March 28, 2010 - Happy Gotcha Day, Dodger! 

March 29, 2010 - Dodger is settling in to his new life quite nicely!  We have gone for several longs walks, fetched many balls, and played with some neighborhood dogs.  We also took a walk down to the lake and he was very curious!  I think he's going to be a swimmer!   He is doing well on the collar and I am excited to receive some additional training on it.  He is eating and sleeping, and of course drinking tons of water.  And, he survived his first day home alone in his crate!  He does have some diarrhea, which is probably due to the major adjustment in his life.  So far, he hasn't been at all destructive around the house, and definitely knows which toys are his!  As I write this, he is sleeping on my feet.... He's a lover!   

Thanks for everything, and tell Cody that Dodger misses him :)

March 25, 2010 - Fendi had a wonderful first night, she slept on the bed between my legs. Yesterday she met Hershey and Nestle, Fendi and Nestle played all afternoon and at dinner Fendi was amazing and went to sleep instead of begging like the other two! She ran out of the house- on accident- with out a leash and went no where! She did great on the ride back to Warner Robins, she and Trey cuddled, at one point I looked back and Trey had his head resting on hers. I wish I could have snapped a picture. When we got home I opened the door and walked in with fendi following and the cat met us at the door. Well the cat took off and Fendi found her while exploring. Mr. Kittles hissed and Fendi rolled over crying so I rushed and hugged Fendi and swatted the cat’s nose. Kittles took off and Fendi ran back out to the garage and I literally carried her inside. After that they were fine, Fendi is terrified of her but I do not let Kittles hiss. Fendi slept between my legs and Kittles on my pillow- until my husband came home and was loving on Fendi. He took her to the couch where I sleepily snapped a thumbs up picture. When he wakes up I will get one of the boys and Fendi- maybe even the cat. Fendi is really laid back and we love her already.

March 30, 2010 - Cooper rocks.  Dena and I renamed him Marshall (the world's best dog named after the world's best guitar amplifier...he's got a great deep bark).

He is coming along just fine and he REALLY enjoys his tennis balls and long belly rubs.

April 2, 2010 - More than a week has passed, and I wanted to give you an update on Seagram. His name is now officially Marley, and he is a joy to all of us. Rex, our big guy has accepted him as a playmate, and they wrestle and nap together. He is really good about going on the pad, and hasn't quite gotten it that he could ask to go outside or wait. What an appetite he has, acts like he's never eaten before, at each of his three meals. We have him on Blue, holistic dry food. We will be taking him tonight for his last set of shots. We are enjoying every minute of his puppy stage, as we realize he will get big very quickly. What a great addition he is to our family.

Cassidy

March 20, 2010 - Happy Gotcha Day, Cassidy! 

March 30, 2010 - Just wanted to update you on Molly (formerly known as Cassidy). We took her to the vet on the way home last Saturday and got her shots, wormed and a general check up (as well as heartworm and flea/tick meds). She's so smart and sweet and doing really well with her crate training. We even had our Parish priest bless her yesterday. She is getting on well with our cats, it only took a few days and they all seem to be okay with the new arrival.

I have attached some photos my daughter took. We can't thank you enough for letting us adopt Molly. She brings joy into our lives and all of us love her so much!

April 21, 2010 - Just wanted to send you an update on Molly (Cassidy). She'll be 3 months old tomorrow and is growing like a weed! She is so sweet and affectionate, we all just love her to pieces. She spends much of her day out in our large backyard hanging out with a cat we "adopted" when her people left her when they moved. (I know - who does that?!) She lives outside and has a doggy door to get into the garage to sleep and eat, but she now spends most of her days babysitting Molly. It's so cute and Molly loves to hang out with her. I really have to get video of this before Molly gets much bigger.  

Molly weighed 16 pounds as of her vet visit for shots last week. It's amazing how fast she's growing and she is very smart! She has already learned to come to us on command no matter what she's doing. She will be the most advanced student in doggy training ever. She adores everyone she meets and the only thing she seems to be scared of is cars/traffic - not riding in them but she'd much rather stick to the yard and that's a very good thing!  

We can't thank you enough for letting us adopt her. She has quickly won a permanent place in our hearts and has really helped heal the pain we were feeling from losing our dog to cancer last year.

March 17, 2010 - Mason is doing great. Very little transition. It's like he has lived here for months. He's really enjoying the big back yard. And he and Abbey are doing just fine.

March 30, 2010 - Mason is doing extremely well adapting to him new home. His new little sister, Abbey and he play, sleep, eat, sleep, eat, play, sleep - repeat! He is a wonderful addition to our family and fits in as if he has been here for years. It's so much fun getting to know him - his personality, his quirks and his habits. He's very inquisitive and quite gentle. He loves to sit with you on the couch and just chill. He and Abbey have a big back yard to play in and when the weather gets warmer a big old screened porch to lounge on. Thanks to everyone - we just love our gentle giant - Mason.

May 4, 2010 - Thanks to you, and everyone at Lab Friends for everything you did to save Mason and protect him for all those months. He is so loved by all of us, including his little sister (and lab rescue) Abbey. He has fit right into our family and become such a loved member. And talk about personality. Wow!! Never in the 30 years I've had labs have I met such a wonderful and gentle dog with so much character. And thanks to you he even runs - ok more like a gallop or trot - outside after rabbits and tennis balls. None of this would ever have been possible without your love and dedication to these wonderful animals. Thank you for doing what you do so well and even more so thank you for our wonderful family companion, Mason. He is well, happy and of course, as always, loves a good ol' belly scratch

March 8, 2010 - First night update. She slept through the night and did her business outside before she went to bed and when she woke up this morning. One thing though, she is clearly missing doggy company. I think it’s her first time without. I am going to have to consider getting her a bud.

March 8, 2010 - What a awesome dog - we are all in love.  We took him to PetSmart 1st thing after we left you and he was great!  He slept on Renee the whole way home and then just made himself at home.  I think he finished 1 big rawhide bone in less than 12 hours :)  Still don't know what we are going to name him - the girls have different opinions.  He saw the cat but she disappeared so fast that I think he didn't know what to think it was.  Today will be bath time - we'll see how he likes it!  

Thank you so much for him.

February 27, 2010 - Happy Gotcha Day, Mrs. Claus! 

March 1, 2010 - Thank you for the photo, too bad Christmas is over it would have been a great card.  Everything has been going fine.  Claus is fascinated by the TV and is learning the ways of the house.  She whined a little in the night but it didn’t last long, and this morning she even rang the bell to go outside to potty.

We’ll keep you updated in the coming weeks and let you know how training goes (we’re starting on the 11th).  Thanks so much.

February 27, 2010 - Mr. David update.... He is a NYC boy now.... sleeping with his brother on the way to his new home. 

Dogs were great on the trip. 14 hours of sleeping. We got up and went to Madison square park dog run this morning. David has been great all week and adjusted well. He Is taking to the training well, too.

March 18, 2010 - David is doing great. He has an amazing personality and is very easy to train.  We take him to the Madison Square Park every morning and he has done very well with the other dogs and people. Now that the weather is starting to break, we are looking to find out what kind of swimmer he is.  I'll keep you informed of his status.

February 16, 2010 - She is doing just great! Her name is now Pepper and she is doing just great. She seems to really like our boy's(we found her curled up with our youngest-in bed) She has quickly adapted to the crate and as soon as we have her house trained we'll be happy.

February 16, 2010 - Mr. Cupid (we named him Riley) is doing great.  We just love him.  My daughter has been getting up early everyday so she can help take care of him.  He now has a habit of falling asleep at night in her lap.  Our 2 year old chocolate lab, Milo, is a great big brother.  He plays tug with him and lays down and lets Riley jump on him.  It is so cute!!   Riley is doing great with the potty training. He has had a few accidents but has been really good at night.  I take him out before we go to bed and then when we get up in the morning, I immediately take him out.  He hasn't had an accident in is crate yet. 

Thank you again for allowing us to have this cute little guy.  We really love him.

Dasher

January 31, 2010 - Happy Gotcha Day, Dasher! 

February 1, 2010 - He zonked out right away last night and started snoring louder than Annie.  He slept through the night and this morning he woke up at 5:20 to start his day. He is a good boy and I know that he's going to fit perfectly into our family.

February 5, 2010 - Just wanted to send you a quick update...Mr. Dasher (we haven't decided on a name yet, the kids want to name him Duke) is doing just fine. He wakes up now at 5:30 to start his day. He really enjoys riding in the car every morning to take the kids to school (almost as much as he likes to eat). The kids are excited about teaching him new tricks and taking him to our family lake house this summer. Our dog Annie and the cats are still not sure what's going on, but everyone is getting along.  We are thankful to have Mr Dasher (Duke?) as part of our family.

February 10, 2010 - We decided to call Mr. Dasher, Luke. Here's a photo of Luke in his crate with his favorite toy. He loves to bit the heart shape on the toy, which makes a "kiss smacking noise". 

March 5, 2010 - It's hard to believe that a month has already past since adopting Luke. Here is a photo of Luke in the snow two weeks ago. He loves playing in the snow! Also, as you can see from the other photo he is getting big...time for a new bed! From the last photo, you can see that Annie has finally accepted Luke. The are so cute together!

Luke is fitting into our home nicely. The other animals have finally come around to fact that he is part of the family. We are thankful to have Luke, he has brought much joy into our family.

January 28, 2010 - So far everything is going well. She's had a couple of accidents, but nothing major. She loves being around us and if either of us leave the room, she will jump up and follow.   She and Toby are starting to get more adjusted with each other and love to just run around the house and play and play and play.

January 23, 2010 - He is doing awesome! He is the most cuddly dog! He is doing great with the house training, hasn't had an accident yet. He slept through the whole night. Today I am having a hard time getting him off the couch to play with me but we did go in the yard and played ball. We really appreciate you saving this beautiful doggy and are thankful we are blessed to care for him. We will keep in touch and visit one of the Saturdays this spring!

January 17, 2010 - Selah has now been renamed Missy; it just seems to fit in with us better! She did great last night.  She goes potty right when I take her out, and on our walks, she'll poop away from the house.  This afternoon, she whimpered a little, so I took her out and she proceeded to poop. She's very good about playing with her toys.  The downside is that she's discovered our grandchildren's playroom upstairs and has helped herself to a couple of old stuffed animals, but it isn't a problem. She's gotten up on our bed a couple of times, but gets down immediately when we tell her. We are working on commands, starting with "Come" and she seems to be catching on. We introduced her to Bob's 93-year old dad yesterday who really fell in love with her; he would love to have another dog if he was able to take care of one.  Our 5-year old grandchildren had a blast running around their yard holding onto the leash!  We feel like she's a good fit for our family!  Not too rambunctious, but not too lazy and slow, either.  Thanks for your help with her adoption!
