If you want to meet one of our dogs in between adoptions we can set up an appointment. In order to schedule an appointment, you must first fill out an adoption application along with the application fee to process your request. Please see our How to Adopt section for additional information.

YEAR 2009

December 2009 - It is that time again! Join us for our 3rd Annual Holiday Party and Reunion on December 12th outside the Pet Basket. We will have the usual silent auction, bigger than ever, pictures with Santa, fun and lots of dogs to play with. As usual this is the best time of the year to adopt a playmate for your dog. Go to the party webpage for a list of what will happen on that day.

October 2009 - On October 24th we will running around Piedmont Park with our dogs. You can see from pictures from last year how much fun we had. If you did not make it last year, you surely will not miss it this year. This is an old Atlanta tradition and a great event. Go here for more information and to sign up.

October 2009 - On October 10th we will be suppporting Right to Hike Inc. and join them their 2nd Annual Ella's 5K & Fun Run. This is a great event, in a wonderful location, for a wonderful cause. Come and have fun with us. For more information go here or email us. This event was named the "2008 Event of the Year" by the Gwinnett Convention & Visitor's Bureau!

May 2009 - We will be part of the people at the Petapalooza event in Suwanee. Petapalooza is Star 94's annual "Pet Party in the Park" at Suwanee Town Center Park, where pet lovers and owners are invited to bring their pets and shop, learn and watch pet-related product demonstrations and events. From pet adoptions and product booths to Frisbee and Agility demonstrations, to discussions with pet experts, Petapalooza has something for all pet enthusiasts.

March 2009 - Woody and LFS volunteers went to speak at Heard Ferry career day on March 20th. It was a great day of education, fun and hugs for Woody.

March 2009 - Look for our athletic volunteers and the LFS team at the ING Marathon on March 29th. Go here if you want to join our team.

YEAR 2008

January 2008 - Superbowl Raffle for Lisa

July 2008 - Our dogs will be participating in the Second Annual Dog & Foot Show at Wills Park. Click here for more information and pictures of this fun day.

August 2008 - A special on LFS and our dogs is now on Comcast on Demand. Go to Channel 1, Get Local, Pet Adoptions, Pet Rescuers, LFS.

September 2008 - LFS mugs were featured on 11Alive "Mugs in the Morning". Go here to watch what they say about us. The loved our logo!

October 2008- We went to Mimosa Elementary School in Roswell to talk with the 5th grade students about us and rescuing dogs. Look here to see how many hugs and kisses Woody got that day.

October 2008- LFS went to Atlanta Dog Jog for an adoption and a fun run. Check out what a fun day we had.

October 2008 - We are running again! This time 5K at Ella's Run. Phelps run a new PR and a few old faces come to say hi! Look here for pictures.

November 2008 - Come celebate election day with a drink, appetizers and a free hair cut by wonderful stylists at Bee Hive Hair Company in Decatur.

May 2007 - Educational visit at Woodward Academy

June 2007 - We were voted on of the best places to adopt from in Atlanta by the Atlanta Magazine .

September 2007 - Bark in the Park at Turner Field
